Golf clubs were busy at the Newport-Irvine Golf Challenge and local charity fundraiser sponsored by the Newport-Irvine Rotary Club. The tournament took place at the beautiful Newport Beach Country Club on Monday, November 3rd, 2008.

Bio: Maureen Zehntner has been named chief executive officer of University of California, Irvine Medical Center and associate vice chancellor for medical center affairs. Her appointment to lead one of the top tertiary care centers in Southern California and the only university hospital in Orange County was approved at the UC Board of Regents meeting today. Zehntner is a registered nurse who has spent nearly 13 years on the medical center’s management team. She joined UC Irvine Medical Center as its chief operating officer in 1996 and has been the hospital’s interim CEO since 2005.
