NIRC International Service
International Service Director: Mian Aqil:International Service describes the activities that Rotarians undertake to advance international understanding, goodwill and peace. The spread of Rotary clubs across the globe allows for the concerted Rotary support of humanitarian efforts worldwide.
Projects: With a budget of $11,000 our projects include underwriting the construction of a Dental Clinic in Ensenada, underwriting Clean Water Project in Philippines, underwriting construction of School for Special Needs Children in Ensenada, Korean Teacher Exchange with Sister Club in Korea, support of the Group Study Exchange Program with India, and Sponsorship of Ambassadorial Scholars studying abroad.
In cooperation with the Ensenada Riviera Club (Mexico) and the White Rock Millennium Club (Canada), we inoculated 2,000 indigent and underprivileged people in the greater Ensenada region against the influenza virus.
We help District 5320 and the Library of Congress in hosting a group of young Russian business leaders during an annual visit to our area.
We have also added the Asia Compassion Project (see letter below) to our list of projects, led by JT Warring. This project seeks to help provide preventive and curative medical care to the children and youth in an unaffiliated network of 153 orphanages scattered throughout Myanmar.
Other projects in the works include a hosting French foreign exchange students, an irrigation project in the Philippines, and a water project in Nigeria.
